Kevin is an accomplished conductor, tenor, educator, and passionate advocate for the transformative power of choral music. With more than 30 years of experience as a performer, conductor, and music educator, he has dedicated his career to developing singers, inspiring students, and strengthening the choral arts in communities and educational institutions.

Kevin currently serves as Artistic Director of the Madison Chamber Choir, a position he has held since 2020. He has also served on the faculties of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, Augustana College, Quincy University, Idaho State University, and Glendale Community College in Arizona. Throughout his tenure, his ensembles have performed major works including Christopher Tin’s The Lost Birds, Mozart’s Requiem and Vesperae solennes de confessore, Fauré’s Requiem, Haydn’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Schubert’s Mass in G, and Ola Gjeilo’s Sunrise Mass.

As a professional singer, Kevin has enjoyed an extensive performing career. In 2007, he joined the internationally acclaimed Phoenix Chorale, serving as Assistant Conductor from 2014 to 2019 while continuing to perform as a tenor. His work with the ensemble has included performances and recordings recognized at the highest levels of the choral profession. He is featured on the Phoenix Chorale’s Grammy Award-winning recording of Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil, as well as on Northern Lights: Choral Works of Ola Gjeilo.

Kevin’s commitment to music education is central to his work. As both a teacher and conductor, he believes deeply in the ability of choral singing to foster musical excellence, community, collaboration, and personal growth. His career has brought him into classrooms, collegiate ensembles, community choirs, festivals, and professional performance settings, allowing him to mentor singers at many stages of their musical development. He has also contributed to the broader choral community through professional writing and advocacy, including work with the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association and the American Choral Directors Association.

Kevin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in K–12 Vocal Music Education from Central College, where he graduated in 1993. He went on to earn both a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Iowa. His educational background reflects the two complementary passions that have defined his career: excellence in choral performance and a lifelong commitment to music education.
